In response to a social attack that may be blocked, the character makes a statement that both refutes her opponent's argument and drives her own home. The player rolls her appropriate (Attribute + Ability) pair for the sort of social attack she wishes to make and applies those successes as an external penalty after the character's normal Parry Mental Defense Value. If any successes are left over (that were unnecessary to defeat the incoming attack), these plus her Essence become the successes on her social counterattack.
