On encountering a storm at sea, the sorcerer appeases the storm mothers by shaping a simulacrum of a red-haired woman from his own anima and casting it out of the ship. It's a cheat, but by fooling a storm mother for a moment, the sorcerer can steal some of her power. For three days or until the end of the storm (whichever comes first), the ship is immune to the storm mothers' wrath. Lightning does not strike it, nor does water drag it down. It will not even sail off course as long as the helmsman succeeds at a (Wits or Stamina + Sail) roll, difficulty dependent on the storm's ferocity. Indeed, if the storm follows the vessel's charted course, it will speed the journey by a few days. The Realm's navy once got the drop on Skullstone Archipelago privateers when an entire battle fleet rode a fortunate hurricane to arrive a week before it was expected.
